Introducing the Inaugural Laudamus Te
Original Composition Latin Contest!
THEME:
“Sanctus Meus Predilectus” – My Favorite Saint. Write a poem OR an essay, telling something about your favorite saint, using only your best Latin!
CONTEST RULES:
- Poems should be between eight and twenty-four lines long, and essays should be fewer than 300 words long.
- A poetry winner and a prose essay winner will be chosen from each age group: Adults (Experti), Undergraduates (Seniores), 14-18 (Tirones), 13 and under (Juniores).
- Winners will receive a unique Laudamus Te 2025 Winner lapel pin. All entries will also receive a downloadable Certificate of Merit from Veterum Sapientia Institute.
DEADLINE:
All essays and poems must be uploaded by midnight, August 1st, 2025. Winners will be announced on the Feast of St. Lawrence, August 10, 2025.
