Course description:
– Hoc in cursu legentur orationes Missalis romani. Opera dabitur linguae ac compositioni orationum collectarum, secretarum (alias « super Oblata »), postcommunionum et aliarum e quibus constat patrimonium euchologicum (ut aiunt) ritus latini. Progrediente cursu alumni suas ipsi orationes ad legem exarabunt.
– In this course we shall explore the Orationes of the Roman Missal, viz. the language and structure of the Collects, Secrets (or Super Oblata), Postcommunion and other prayers that form the ‘euchological’ patrimony of the Latin rite. As the course progresses, students will produce their own Latin prayers according to the traditional rules.

Language prerequisites:
– Ut quoddammodo calleant discipuli latine atque bis terve saltem liturgiae illa lingua litatae adfuerint.
– A solid grounding in Latin grammar; at least some familiarity with the Latin liturgy.

Materials:
– Missale Romanum (any edition down to 1964 / quavis editione usque ad annum 1964).
